What will you be doing?
To Design and implement initiatives to tackle poor behaviour / recognise and reward good behaviour
- Build, deliver and continuously improve a rolling 12-month behaviour delivery plan
- Design and implement national initiatives to address poor behaviour, including targeted responses for repeat offenders (e.g. the Behaviour Improvement Programme).
- Create and support campaigns and interventions that recognise and reward good behaviour at all levels of the game.
- Optimise exposure and adoption of the Respect Standards and Codes of Conduct, embedding them as the shared language of the game and evolving them as needed.
- Test and evaluate creative, non-traditional approaches to behaviour change, drawing on innovation and fresh thinking.
To utilise digital, insights and data to shape interventions that have optimal impact
- Use behavioural insight, discipline data, and participant feedback to shape, target and refine interventions.
- Ensure data is used effectively to measure performance, demonstrate impact, and drive continuous improvement.
- Lead the development of the Behaviour Hub into a best-in-class digital support tool for clubs, leagues, County FA's and individuals.
To collaborate with other stakeholders to embed a collective approach to tacking poor behaviour
- Support County FA's in implementing national initiatives and help them optimise local delivery for maximum impact.
- Ensure a stead stream of aligned messaging to participants, clubs, leagues and County FAs that reinforce strategic Tackling Poor Behaviour (TPB) goals.
- Collaborate closely with marketing to ensure national campaigns (e.g. Love Football, Protect the Game) and "always on" activities are engaging, consistent and far-reaching.
- Work across departments to ensure strategic alignment and strengthen outcomes, including:
- With the Discipline team to align the penalty points system and exploure new ways to close the under-reporting gap
- With the FA Learning and Grassroots Coach Education teams to embed behaviour-related content in learning programmes and coach development.

Pitch Preparation and Presentation

Matchday Operations

Post-Match Recovery

Who we’re looking for: We are looking for a accredited Performance Wellbeing Lead who has previous experience supporting the development of a well-being / mental health strategy across an organisation, preferably a high-performance sporting environment.
Essential qualifications include:
- Educated to at least degree-level, or equivalent, in fields relevant to performance wellbeing, e.g. sports psychology, wellbeing, education, counselling, with a focus on female athlete health
- Level 3 Athlete personal and development lifestyle certification
- UK Anti-Doping Introduction to Clean Sport Certificate
- Mental Health First Aid.
You will have proven experience working with elite or high-performance athletes, preferably in women’s football or team sports and a strong knowledge of wellbeing principles related to performance and resilience in sport.

BACKGROUND
One of the FA seven strategic objectives is to be 'A world-leading education programme for a diverse football workforce'. The FA has examined its own under-representation of historically underrepresented groups in senior leadership positions and is committed to developing greater equality of opportunities. This includes ensuring that more under-represented leaders obtain relevant qualifications and gain essential experience to challenge for senior positions across the football industry.
This programme is open to all female and male applicants, particularly those from historically underrepresented groups.

The Role - Mentor
Program Overview: The FA KICKSTART: Leaders Mentor Programme seeks up to five experienced and accomplished professionals in the football industry to serve as mentors. Mentors will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting aspiring individuals, sharing their expertise, and contributing to the overall development of the next generation of leaders in the football industry.
Commitment: Mentors are expected to commit to the programme for a minimum of nine months and must have line-manager and organisational approval to take part. During this period, they will engage in regular meetings with their assigned mentees and 'mentoring circles' groups, provide guidance, share insights, and actively contribute to the mentees' professional development.
Group mentoring sessions shall be up to two hours per month in duration. Mentors shall also provide up to 30 minutes of one-to-one conversations with each mentee per month, for a total commitment per mentor of up to 5.5 hours per month (maximum). At various intervals throughout the period (up to 6), mentees will be invited to specific sessions in person to receive training and development sessions, which mentors are welcome to attend.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Extensive Football Industry Experience: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the football industry, with a proven track record of success and leadership. Mentors should have a comprehensive understanding of the various business and professional disciplines of the industry, combined with a passion for equality, diversity and inclusion.
- Mentoring or Business Coaching Experience: Previous experience in mentoring, business coaching, or guiding individuals in a professional capacity. This could include formal mentorship roles, coaching positions, or leadership roles where mentorship was a key component.
- Networking and Industry Connections: Well-established professional networks within the football industry. Mentors should be able to leverage their connections to create opportunities for mentees and provide valuable insights into the industry landscape.
- Commitment to Education: A commitment to fostering learning and development, with a passion for contributing to the growth of individuals within the football industry.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey insights, provide feedback, and engage in meaningful discussions with mentees.

The Role: Mentee
Program Overview: The FA KICKSTART: Leaders Mentee Programme aims to provide aspiring leaders from historically underrepresented groups within the football industry the opportunity to gain valuable insights, guidance, and support from experienced professionals to become tomorrow's leaders. Mentees will have the chance to enhance their understanding of the industry, develop essential skills, and navigate their career paths with the assistance of seasoned mentors.
Commitment: Mentees are expected to commit to the programme for a minimum of nine months and must have line-manager and organisational approval to take part. During this period, they will engage in regular meetings with their assigned mentors both individually and in 'mentoring circle' groups, actively participate in program activities, and demonstrate a proactive approach to their own professional development.
Group mentoring sessions shall be up to two hours per month in duration either online using the Guider platform or in person. Mentees will also receive one-to-one conversations every month. At various intervals throughout the period (up to 6), mentees will be invited to specific in-person sessions to receive training and development.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Professional Experience: Candidates must be working in the football industry across any discipline and must currently be operating at mid-manager level which typically means having 5-8 years of experience.
- Passion for Football: A genuine and demonstrated passion for the sport of football is essential. This includes a deep understanding of the game, its culture, and its impact on communities.
- Commitment to Learning: The mentee should be eager to learn, open to feedback, and committed to personal and professional growth within the football industry.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial. The ability to articulate ideas, ask insightful questions, and engage in meaningful conversations is highly valued.

Mentors will play a crucial role in guiding and supporting aspiring individuals, sharing their expertise, and contributing to the overall development of the next generation of leaders in the football industry.
Commitment: Mentors are expected to commit to the programme for a minimum of nine months and must have line-manager and organisational approval to take part. During this period, they will engage in regular meetings with their assigned mentees and 'mentoring circles' groups, provide guidance, share insights, and actively contribute to the mentees' professional development.
Group mentoring sessions shall be up to two hours per month in duration. Mentors shall also provide up to 30 minutes of one-to-one conversations with each mentee per month, for a total commitment per mentor of up to 5.5 hours per month (maximum).
