The Foundation is looking to appoint a Live Well Officer to support the Health & Wellbeing arm of Stevenage FC Foundation to develop an accessible health and wellbeing offer, in a variety of settings for all, to live more active, healthy and positive lives.

About this role:

Reporting into the Head of Academy Operations, the Academy Operations & Administration Manager will lead the day-to-day operations of the Academy with a particular focus on the U16 – U21 age groups along with the Academy Tours & Tournaments programme.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Be one of two ‘Superusers’ for Teamworks, the Academy’s main operations and communications app
  • Complete weekly U18 & U21 schedules on Teamworks to ensure the smooth daily operations of the Academy
  • Complete all pre and post-match administration for the U16, U18 & U21 programmes
  • Attend all Under 21 home fixtures and be the main point of contact for the away team
  • Manage the Academy Tours and Tournaments programme (U9 – U16) – from identification of the tournament to the administration
  • Respond to weekly external scout requests and compile access lists to be held at reception on a matchday
  • Submit all Scholarship applications along with trialist paperwork for PDP Players
  • Administer monthly Scholar expenses
  • Arrange all hotel and transport requirements for U16 – U21 fixtures
  • Sit on the Academy Management Team and circulate slides and next steps at the end of each meeting
  • Arrange additional fixtures for PDP squads when necessary
  • Arranging of Match Officials for U16 Fixtures and PDP Fixtures via the London FA
  • Complete weekly and daily Whereabouts in line with FA Anti-Doping regulations
  • Raising Purchase Orders for approval
  • Liaise with Women’s Operations Manager to ensure no scheduling clashes across the Academy site
  • Support other Academy departments with administrative processes as and when required
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required by line manager.
  • Upholding and promoting the Club’s policies and procedures, including Health and Safety, Safeguarding and Equal Opportunities policies and procedures.

Our Boys Academy Department is proud to have achieved the prestigious Category One Academy status which reflects our commitment to delivering excellence across all areas of youth football including coaching, education, training, and facilities. This also includes our Pre-Academy and Emerging Talent programmes:

 

The Pre-Academy programme works with the U7 and U8s age groups, whilst players within these age groups are not officially signed players, we aim to provide a high-level quality coaching environment to develop and identify talented players to register at U9s.

The Emerging Talent Centres provide a platform for players who are deemed “on the fringes” to access high quality coaching and facilities. The aim of the emerging talent centres is to “Identify and Access” and “Monitor and Develop” a wider pool of players on a weekly basis.

  1. The Roles

We are thrilled to announce two exciting opportunities for a highly motivated and proactive Coach and Assistant Coach to work across our Pre-Academy and Emerging Talent Centre Programmes who are passionate about identifying and developing young footballers.

 

  • Coach (Pre-Academy)

You will need to hold a UEFA B Licence and have experience of planning, delivering, and monitoring elite football programmes.

You will be responsible for leading the development programme for your allocated age group and specific programme. You will lead on preparing, coaching, managing and debriefing your allocated age group for their games programme to deliver high-quality coaching sessions across the pre-academy age group. In this role, you will be based between our Bodymoor Heath Training Ground and Brookvale Inner-City Academy, therefore, you must hold a UK driving licence with access to your own vehicle or the ability to travel between our Club sites as and when required.

  • Assistant Coach (Pre-Academy/Emerging Talent Centres)

You will need to hold a UEFA C Licence (previously known as FA Level 2 Coaching in Football) and have experience of planning, delivering and monitoring football coaching sessions to a high level, particularly with young players between 7-11.

You will support and assist with the coaching of pre-academy and emerging talent centre programmes. This role will be based at Brookvale Inner-City Academy.

Within both roles, you will work closely with the Coaching Staff and Talent ID Departments to support the development and identification of young players who have the potentially to play for Aston Villa Boy’s Academy. You will have access to a thorough Continued Professional Development (CPD) framework delivered across the season.

You must also be available to work flexibly as this role will require you to work evenings and weekends.

Key Role Responsibilities:

Coaching & Player Development

  • Foster an elite learning and training environment that prioritises player development and progression, support the Foundation Phase Lead to ensure games programme provides the appropriate challenges including, tours and competitive opportunities.
  • Organise and oversee match-day preparation and performance analysis for specific age group.
  • Maintain detailed records on player progression, performance data, and performance clocks using the appropriate platforms.
  • Ensure appropriate session planning and cover is in place throughout the season.
  • Champion the player/parent feedback process and ensure a transparent, no-surprise mantra is adhered to throughout the phase, you will be a key point of contact for players/parents across the phase, ensuring a professional approach is always a priority. 

Leadership & Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) Management

  • Support the Foundation Phase Lead Coach to mentor a team of academy coaches and support staff, fostering professional development.
  • Lead when required on suitable meetings to track player development and progress.
  • Collaborate with the Medical, Physical Performance, Analysis and Lifelong Learning teams to ensure a holistic player approach.
  • Drive best practices in coaching methodology and player welfare.
  • Uphold high standards in safeguarding and ethical conduct within the academy structure.
  • Maintain adherence to Premier League regulations and best practices in youth development.
  • Sit amongst a decision-making group for all Pre-Academy decision-making.

Personal characteristics and experience:

  • Experience of football coaching in a professional environment

Supporting the Club Pathway Mission to discover and develop exceptional talent to integrate into the Academy groups you will deliver the Advanced Talent coaching program, leading the
group in line with the Coaching philosophy, vision, and values, of the Academy and the Club.

Working closely with the Academy Recruitment and Coaching team, to ensure that the needs of all players are fully catered for; whilst also managing a positive relationship with the parent group and always display behaviors that are in line with the Club Values & a Nil Satis Nisi Optimum work ethic ensuring  you go above and beyond in your role.

Other key responsibilities as part of this role will include:  

  • Planning and delivering the coaching program for the Advanced Talent Program (ATP) in line with the relevant coaching curriculum and KPI’s established across the Academy Recruitment Department
  • Providing a highly engaging program that supports both player development and player experience
  • Alongside the Talent Pathway Manager, identify Individual Learning Objectives (ILOs) for each player to support their development within the Advanced Talent Program, delivering specifically designed small group sessions tailored to individuals
  • Support player development and player experiences through the delivery of a weekly games program, providing pre, post and in-game feedback to support player development linking to players Individual Learning Objectives
  • Support the delivery of local recruitment events throughout the year.

Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for someone who has an excellent track record of working within the football industry, in particular experience of working with coaches and supporting children during coaching sessions.  

Organisational and time management skills will be key to succeed in this role as you must have the ability to plan and co-ordinate activities for a large number of people.   

Our successful candidate will have a genuine passion and commitment to ensuring professionalism and behaviors are consistently in line with Club values. 

As a requirement for this role, you must hold at minimum the following qualifications:

The Essex County FA are excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for an experienced individual to join their renowned Development Team as a Football Development Officer (FDO), covering the districts of Braintree, Colchester, Maldon and Tendring.

This permanent, full-time position will be based at the Association’s headquarters in Chelmsford, with flexible home working available. Alongside driving football participation in these local authorities above, the new FDO will strategically lead the Disability Player Pathway, coordinating with football development colleagues to drive disability football opportunities. The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering the FA Grassroots Football Strategy and the County FA’s #MovingForward Strategy 2028. The position focuses on growing participation, enhancing the quality of football pathways and upholding the highest safeguarding standards across the county. Importantly, this is not a coaching role, but a strategic and developmental one.

Key responsibilities will include developing and delivering sustainable plans to grow participation and improve quality across all football pathways, as well as ensuring effective implementation of The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs.

Ideal candidates will be university graduates (or equivalent), with strategy knowledge and a proven track record of working in sports development for at least two years. They’ll be able to demonstrate the ability to build strong working relationships with a variety of stakeholders, hold a full driving licence (with access to a vehicle) and be available for evening and weekend work when required.

About the opportunity: We have an exciting opportunity for a Pre-Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach to join the Academy Coaching department based at our Finch Farm Training Ground. 

As Pre-Academy Lead Goalkeeping Coach you will be responsible for the pre-academy Goalkeeping coaching programme, development and leading sessions, in line with the Coaching philosophy, vision and values of the Academy and the Club.

Working closely with the pre-academy phase lead and foundation phase Goalkeeping coach you will ensure that the needs of all players are fully catered for, while ensuring professionalism and behaviours are consistently in line with Club values.

Other key responsibilities as part of this role will include:  

Coaching 

  • Planning and delivering of the technical coaching programme for the pre-academy age group
  • Create a fun, challenging and competitive environment for all player
  • Coach and manage the goal keepers you lead within all aspects of the games programme
    (home & away) including group and individual programmes
  • Liaise with all key pre-academy personnel when planning, arranging coaching sessions and

Player Development and Progression 

  • Profile the technical, tactical, physical, and psychological attributes of each player, then create
    and agree individual development programmes for each boy in the phase
  • Build working relationships with parents of players in the phase, ensuring communication is
    honest, clear and open to support the development of all players.
  • Monitor potential safeguarding children risks and work with the Academy Safeguarding Officer,
    and the Head of Safeguarding for Everton Football Club to promote safer working practice
    throughout the Academy

Who we are looking for: Essentially, we are looking for someone who has an excellent track record of working within the football industry, in particular experience of working with goalkeepers and supporting children during coaching sessions.  

Organisational and time management skills will be key to succeed in this role as you must have the ability to plan and co-ordinate activities for a large number of people.   

Our successful candidate will have a genuine passion and commitment to ensuring professionalism and behaviours are consistently in line with Club values. 

As a requirement for this role, you must hold at minimum the following qualifications: 

  • Level 2 (UEFA C Licence)
  • FA Level 1 GK Coaching qualification
  • Emergency First Aid Certificate
  • Safeguarding Children Certificate
  • Satisfactory Enhanced DBS Disclosure
