Women’s Community Football Officer

Essex County Football Association

Apply Now

Job description:

Passionate about growing the women’s game? Inspired by the Lionesses’ success? This is your chance to make a difference. The Essex County FA are recruiting a Women’s Community Football Officer to drive the development of recreational female football across the county.

Based at their Chelmsford headquarters, with a blend of hybrid working, you’ll become part of their expanding Development Team, playing a central role in building the Female Player Pathway and creating more opportunities for women and girls to enjoy the game. Applications are required by Monday 1st September.

Why Now? There’s never been a better time to get involved. Football for women and girls is growing rapidly, and the County FA are determined to make it accessible for all. Working towards the ambitious targets in their #MovingForward Strategy 2028, you’ll help them deliver meaningful, sustainable change.

Your Role: You’ll begin by gaining a clear understanding of the current adult women’s and girls’ football landscape in Essex, identifying areas for growth. Collaborating closely with local stakeholders, you’ll develop and implement a targeted female football plan - with a particular focus on Barking & Dagenham and Newham. Your work will include:

* expanding adult women’s community football
* growing opportunities through casual formats such as Just Play
* supporting Walking Football, small-sided games and flexi leagues
* increasing participation from underrepresented groups
