Role Title: Football Operations Manager

Reports to: CEO

Location: Hybrid working with a mix of office based at Suffolk FA offices in Stowmarket 3 days a week and home working 2 days a week

Working hours: 35 hours per week. Some evening and weekend work is required

Salary: £36,000 - £37,500 per year

Annual Leave: 25 days exc Bank Holidays

Contract Type: Permanent


We are looking for a strong Football Operations Manager with good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple workstreams and priorities.


The Role

 

The Football Operations Manager is a crucial member of our Senior Leadership Team and will lead critical areas of the organisation which includes strategically leading our coaching, match officials, discipline and safeguarding functions. The role will also lead the delivery of Suffolk County Cup competitions.


We are looking for an individual with operational experience in at least one of those areas. This role will lead a large and diverse team of people who are subject experts in this field, giving them strategic leadership and guidance and ensuring the work they deliver is meeting Suffolk FA’s strategic priorities. You will work alongside Senior Leadership team members in ensuring the organisation moves forward and delivers a

strong game on behalf of our clubs, coaches, match officials, players and volunteers.


You will:

  • support delivery of Suffolk FA’s Strategy 2024-2028 ‘A Thriving Local Game’ and the FA Grassroots Strategy 2024-2028

  • lead the wider workforce development in Suffolk, leading the coaching and refereeing teams to achieve the key objectives and targets around coaching and refereeing

  • lead safeguarding in the organisation, managing the Designated Safeguarding Officer

  • oversee the business functions of Suffolk FA including behaviour improvement, discipline and competitions lead the delivery of Suffolk’s County Cups, managing the County Cups Manager and working with the Commercial Funding and Partnerships Manager to make them a commercial success

  • contribute to the effective implementation of The FA’s Safeguarding Operating Standard for County FAs

  • support the adoption of FA technology systems across grassroots football

  • comply with FA rules, regulations, policies, procedures and guidance that are in place from time to time
