A unique and exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, highly motivated coach with great attention to detail to work in the female game to join Norwich City Football Club in the role of women’s team Head Coach.

The role of the Women’s Team Head Coach is fundamental to the long-term vision of Norwich City Football Club and the strategic growth of the Women’s Team. The long-term vision of Norwich City Women is to be recognised as a club that champions the development of homegrown female talent through elite player pathways, driven by our proud, passionate football community. The head coach will be responsible for developing both the team and individuals technically and tactically as athletes who play football, through weekly coaching. The head coach will be responsible for ensuring that the team is competitive across the women’s football pyramid, working in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team aligned to the Cub’s sporting strategy.

The working week of the Norwich City Women’s Head Coach will fluctuate at different parts of the season, with the head coach expected to plan and prioritise their time with the focus of developing both the team and individuals technically and tactically as athletes who play football. The role is located across all NCFC sites (Lotus Training Centre, Carrow Road, The Nest and other various locations).

Key tasks/responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead all training and match day fixtures for Norwich City women, perfectly aligned with the team’s overarching goals and objectives.
  • Manage a successful winning team that can achieve promotion to tier 3 of the women’s football pyramid, based upon a core of homegrown players.
  • Lead a multi-disciplinary team (MDT), collaborating with medical and physical performance staff to manage the development of athletes who play football.
  • Implement high-performance coaching standards, game principles, game strategies and review processes.
  • Place a dedicated focus on player development, seeking both individual and team development through individual player development plans and use of analysis software. 
  • Monitoring the transition of players through player pathway.
  • Collaborate with the women’s team general manager on the identification and recruitment of players into women’s team, aligned to the club recruitment strategy.
  • Attend and represent the Club at League Competition, FA meetings and coach development events.
  • Represent the Club in the media and at public events in a professional manner.
  • Demonstrate a forward-thinking approach to undertake self-development in all aspects of coaching and leadership.

Qualifications/Experience

Essential

  • UEFA B licence
  • FA first aid in football
  • FA safeguarding children certificate
  • Full UK driving license

Desirable

  • Previous experience within girls’ and women’s foot
