Description: The Leeds United Foundation is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, self-motivated, and dedicated individual to support their delivery of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme. The suitable candidate will be required to meet the Mission, Vision and Objectives set out by the Premier League and The Leeds United Foundation to inspire young people to get active in their school and communities.

Premier League Primary Stars is a very diverse programme, from delivering PE CPD to teachers to more classroom-based activities such as Reading Stars or PSHE lessons. The successful Primary Stars coach will be required to also deliver targeted interventions, using football as an incentive to help pupils who may require additional support.

Main areas of responsibility:

· To deliver the minimum key performance indicators (KPI’s) of the Premier League Primary Stars Programme.

· To promote and support the sustainability of high-quality PE delivery in Primary Schools.

· To deliver and support a broad curriculum to include interventions, PSHE, Maths and English.

Principal Actions and Accountability:

· To provide the key link between the Foundation and the Partner Organisation with regards to the delivery of Primary Stars Programme as per Premier League requirements.

· To deliver the key outcomes of the Primary Stars Programme.

· To achieve the project outcomes as outlined by the Premier League including ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the entire project through robust management information. Reporting to include capturing case studies to celebrate the positive impact of the programme offer.

· To establish and extend relationships necessary for the successful execution of the outcomes and to enhance the Foundation’s brand

· To mentor teachers during the programme to meet the required KPI’s i.e., the upskilling of teachers to deliver PE.

· To seek opportunities to drive other funding opportunities to support the programme over and above Premier League input, including club colours days.

· To plan, organise and liaise with partner schools and external partners to organise competitions in line with PL Primary Stars KPI’s.

· To communicate and liaise with other internal departments and external partners.

· To be adept with emailing, photocopying. Proficient use of Excel, Power Point and Word.

· To be willing to undertake further training, education and continued professional development.

· To take an active role in any other duties required to deliver the outcomes and targets of The Leeds United Foundation.

Person Specification

ESSENTIAL

DESIRABLE

· Understanding of the Premier League Primary Stars programme.

· Experience of working with children and young people in a Primary School setting from areas of low/medium and high need.

· Fundamental safe working practices.

· Knowledge of delivering inclusive and age-appropriate sport sessions in a KS1 & 2 environment within in-curriculum time.

· Experience of planning PE and school sport lessons and know how to differentiate content to meet the individual needs of pupils.

· NGB Level 2 in Football / UEFA C.

· Level 3 in Support Physical Education in School Sport (PESS), Level 4/5 Teaching Qualifications or QTS.

· GSCE C/4 in English and Maths.

· Full Clean Driving Licence.

  • Ability to use a problem-solving approach to respond appropriately to a wide range of enquiries.
  • Ability to work on own initiative or with others on tasks with minimum supervision.
  • Good communication, presentation and negotiation skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A proven advocate of excellent customer service.
  • Ability to coordinate projects from development to implementation to completion.
  • Promoting participation in sport in a primary school setting.
  • Supporting young people to progress into positive pathways.
  • Safeguarding young people’s development and engaging and communicating with young people.
  • Working with a range of primary schools and community groups and using the vehicle of sport to drive change.
  • Ability and willingness to work outside of normal hours as and when required.
  • Flexible approach to work.

· Knowledge of local initiatives, governments policies.

· Experience of working in and liaising with schools and external agencies.

· Experience of working with a diverse team of staff, with experience in mentoring and staff development.

· NGB Level 1 & 2’s in a range of other sports.

· FA Mentoring Adults Course.

  • Be willing to undertake further training and development as necessary to enhance service delivery.
