Derby County are seeking to recruit a Finance Business Partner to join our Finance department at Pride Park Stadium.

The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate commercial information for the Club DCFC management team to support their decision-making and assist in the commercial development of the business by providing recommendations and advising on the financial impact.

 

Key Role Responsibilities:

 

  • Act as the primary finance interface between DCFC and Delaware North, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely accounting for Club DCFC.
  • Produce monthly Management Accounts packs, weekly P&L reporting, and event forecasts in line with stakeholder timetables.
  • Manage monthly forecasting and the annual planning process, providing detailed analysis and clear justification of assumptions, including sales mix and variance analysis.
  • Oversee all aspects of cash management, working closely with clients, on-site operational teams, and Delaware North.
  • Deliver detailed cost and variance analysis across sales, COGS, payroll, and overheads, challenging performance and recommending actions to improve profitability.
  • Support on-site management through regular financial review meetings, advising on corrective actions to enhance business performance.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of financial systems through correct postings, reconciliations, and balance sheet control in line with UK accounting standards.
  • Lead financial projects and provide enhanced business analysis to support strategic decision-making and improve UK business performance.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external auditors on trading and financial matters.

 

Essential personal characteristics and experience:

  • Good commercial and business acumen
  • Ability to analyse complex financial information
  • Use of NetSuite / PeopleSoft accounting system (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication skills, including being able to present complex information in a clear and concise format
  • Be proactive, challenging, highly organised and work well under pressure
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills, and be confident in partnering with the business to help drive better results
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own workload
  • A comprehensive understanding of internal and industry standards and principles
  • Ability to apply in-depth understanding of the business dynamics of how own area integrates with other areas
  • Work using own initiative and as part of a team

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • Newly qualified or at final stages exams subject to experience (CIMA, ACA, ACCA or equivalent)

 

Salary is competitive, dependent on experience.

 

This is a full-time role, 35 hours per week, based at Pride Park Stadium.
