Over the last 30 years, the number of British players from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities in the Premier League has doubled. But off the pitch, the picture is very different. In coaching, management, media, operations, PR and many other areas of the game, diversity is still not where it should be.
Raise Your Game is here to help change that.
We work to remove the barriers that can stop people getting started and open doors to real opportunities across football. Through our events, mentoring, industry connections and hands on experiences, Raise Your Game gives you the knowledge, confidence and opportunities to take your next step in a career in football.
More than an event
When you attend a Raise Your Game event, you become part of a wider community with access to exclusive opportunities throughout the year. We regularly share opportunities directly with our RYG community, including experience days at leading football clubs and organisations, industry conferences, work experience, shadowing opportunities and other ways to gain valuable insight into working in the game.
These experiences can help you build your skills and network, gain practical experience and get a better understanding of the different career paths available across football.
This Season’s Raise Your Game Events
Our RYG events bring together people working across football who can offer honest advice, real insight and practical support. Each event is welcoming, interactive and designed to help you understand what a career in football can look like and, importantly, how you can start building one.
Media RYG – London | November 2026
Media RYG is for anyone interested in a career in football media. You will hear from reporters, presenters, producers, club communications teams, PR professionals and digital specialists who will share how they got started, what their roles involve and the skills that really matter. You will explore different areas of the industry, from broadcasting and presenting to communications, media relations and digital content, with opportunities to get involved in practical activities and speak directly to people working in the game.
Women’s RYG – January 2027
Women’s RYG is a supportive and inspiring space for women and allies who want to build a career in any area of football. Hear from women working across coaching, media, refereeing, operations and more, and get honest advice about their experiences and what it takes to progress in the game. The day will also include opportunities for networking, mentoring and practical sessions designed to build confidence, resilience and the skills needed to take your next step.
Coaching & Backroom RYG – March 2027
Coaching & Backroom RYG will explore the many careers that sit behind the scenes of football. From coaching, performance analysis and scouting to player care, operations, marketing, PR, community work and event delivery, there are countless ways to build a career in the game off the pitch. Hear from people working across these areas, learn how they got started and gain practical insight into the skills and experience that can help you progress.
Media RYG – Manchester | May 2027
Our second Media RYG of the season will bring the Raise Your Game experience to Manchester, giving aspiring football media professionals the opportunity to hear from people working across the industry, develop their skills and build valuable connections.
