The role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an enthusiastic Performance Coach at a pivotal time of transition and change for Burnley Football Club.
The Performance Coach will provide support to the Sports Science department with specific reference to gym and pitch-based strength and conditioning for first team and elite academy development players.
Role expectations
Reporting to the Head of Sports Science, the Performance Coach will be expected to:
• Contribute to the planning, delivery and analysis of strength and conditioning sessions to provide effective physical development of BFC elite development and first team players.
• Proactively drive the development of individual and team testing and monitoring protocols to assess fitness levels and prescribe interventions to develop and maximise performance.
• Interpret and use player data to inform effective prehab interventions that contribute to the prevention of injury.
• Proactively distribute relevant strength and conditioning feedback to appropriate staff.
• To be able to work flexible hours where the role of the job requires.
• To work towards agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Comply with all Club policies.
• To understand and implement the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
• Promote the Burnley Football Club brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
• A commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace and a willingness to undertake all relevant equality and diversity training.

An ideal candidate will have;
• Sports Science or Strength and Conditioning related MSC qualification.
• UKSCA Accreditation or other industry recognised Strength and conditioning qualification.
• A minimum of 2 years working with development players in a professional academy across an age range of u18 to U23
• A minimum of 2 years experience working with first team players in squad and individual sessions.
• Significant Strength and Conditioning experience - planning, delivering and reflecting on strength training and assessment.

• A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
