Salford City has donated the back of shirt sponsorship to Kick It Out for the upcoming season. This is the first time we will be allocated a dedicated space on a team’s shirt for the entirety of a season.

In addition to wearing the Kick It Out logo, Salford City will work with us to deliver educational sessions about diversity and inclusion across the club throughout the season, with the aim to increase awareness and understanding of the other cultural or religious backgrounds of people in society.

Salford City Chairman Karen Baird said:We are proud to have donated our back of shirt sponsorship to Kick It Out for the 2020-21 campaign.Recent events have exposed that there are still racial and discriminative behaviours in society which can not be tolerated. By helping promote Kick It Out and working with them to educate and inform stakeholders about other cultures, backgrounds and beliefs, we are hopeful of ensuring that match days are an enjoyable experience for all members of our community.

As a club we have a zero tolerance approach to all forms of anti-social, discriminative or racial behaviour and will not be afraid to take action against anyone found guilty of committing it. At the same time we would urge anybody who is a victim of such attacks to please report it directly to the club, a steward, or Kick It Out via their app or website.”

Kick It Out Chair Sanjay Bhandari added: “We are delighted to have the support of Salford City for the upcoming football season. It’s great that as a club they are taking a proactive stand against discrimination. We look forward to working with them over the coming months, to help promote a safe and fair environment, which people of all backgrounds can benefit from at Salford City.”
