Kick It Out is proud to announce the beginning of a partnership with Midlands-based Koi Sports CIC, a Community Interest Company who focus on grassroots sports investment, crime prevention, and increased sports participation and representation of minority communities across the UK.

The collaboration will see Koi Sports work with Kick It Out to access new funding from corporate partners, trusts and grant schemes, and build stronger relationships across our country’s grassroots football sector.

Koi Sports already has backing in its local Leicester area, with Leicester City FC captain, Wes Morgan, on board as their Grassroots Sports Ambassador. His influence is helping the organisation to meet their objective of driving commercial investment, and other funding, into local sport to both sustain and grow activity.

Kick It Out will also benefit from the company’s extensive bid-writing track record; numerous funds, including those aimed at grassroots activities, will be targeted, while staff members of the charity will attend training in the subject from Koi Sports’ experienced team.

Robert Brown, Kick It Out’s Fundraising and Events Manager, is delighted to be working with Koi Sports:

"This partnership is a great opportunity for Kick It Out to strengthen our relationships in grassroots football, especially in the Midlands, and it will also enable us to fund new and growing projects in the fight against discrimination in the game.

"David, Adam and the team at Koi Sports already have an excellent track record in securing grant funding for charities of all shapes and sizes across the country and we will benefit hugely from their expertise as we look to diversify and multiply our income in the months and years to come.

"Equally, we know that we can offer our support and guidance to Koi Sports as they continue their work to increase participation in sport and create a more equal game for the millions who play football every weekend across the country."

On agreeing the new partnership David Johnson-Rayner, CEO and one of the founding members of Koi Sports commented:

"Koi Sports CIC are immensely proud to have been chosen to support Kick It Out in their work to create a more equal game, and we are all looking forward to working with Robert, Keeley, Troy and the team, to enhance their already valuable anti-discrimination work across all levels of English Football.

"Football is our countries “national game” and is enjoyed every week by millions of people. The sport is a great “leveller”, and whether it be directly or indirectly, the sport helps us all to address some of the many social issues that we face as a society.

"Kick It Out exist to provide a safe and fair environment for our diverse population to benefit from, and we at Koi Sports look forward to delivering alternative income streams to support the growth of their activities."

The first priority of the partnership will be to access funds for Kick It Out’s grassroots and education programmes.
