ick It Out spoke with Ambassador Jordan Nobbs, midfielder for Arsenal Women’s FC about recent changes in the women’s game, specifically The Football Association’s plans for women’s football.

When asked about the new FA plans to revamp the league structure, including a fully professional Women’s Super League (WSL) 1, Jordan was quietly optimistic but reserved in her thoughts concerning the plans.

“It’s great that The FA want 12 teams to turn professional, but I’m in a difficult situation where I don’t see 12 teams being fully professional right now.

“Obviously we want our league to be sustainable and not chop and change every year, so hopefully this will be that start of change.

Discussing the perception of women in football, Jordan reiterated the brilliant progress women’s football has made.

“We have progressed over the last few years since I’ve been professional, but hopefully we can keep on pushing through the media and having more people come watch, and just keeping us involved.”
