Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.

We work hard every day to deliver our mission to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.

We work with over 70 local, regional, and national partners in five key areas: Sport, Education, Health, Social Inclusion and Community Facilities. Our highly skilled, dynamic, and passionate team now deliver over 50 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and young people right through to senior citizens.

The role

As restrictions are lifted we are looking to increase our team of Facilities Assistants at The Leisure Box. We have a number of roles available to work a variety of shifts which will include days, weekends and evenings. This is a flexible role and we are looking for conscientious and outgoing individuals.

The Leisure Box is Burnley and Pendle’s community leisure facility, based at the iconic Northlight site in Brierfield. Friendly, fun, and affordable, The Leisure Box is a place for everyone in communities living across East Lancashire to enjoy and benefit from.

Reporting to the Duty Manager, the Facilities Assistant will be expected to be an all-round leisure assistant with the ability to be deployed in a number of areas.

Duties include:
• Provide a warm, friendly, and efficient welcome to customers, check them in, answer their queries, and direct them to the appropriate location.
• Be a contact point for customers, wherever you are deployed.
• Be able to give customers accurate information about the Leisure Box, and its activities, face to face, and over the phone.
• Undertake regular building checks to ensure that high standards of cleanliness are being maintained and carry out reactive cleaning duties to support our cleaning team.
• Maintain the highest standards at all times.
• Ensure five-star customer service at all times.
• Ensure that equipment for bookings is set up in good time.
• Serve customers on the café counter.
• Act as a Party Host: Ensure that parties are run to schedule, encourage a party atmosphere including organising cutting of the cake, singing happy birthday, serving of food, etc.
• Clipper: Assist the Climbing Instructor on Clip n Climb sessions.
• Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
• A commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.


An ideal candidate will have;
• Previous experience of working in a busy customer facing environment.
• Good IT skills.
