Burnley FC in the Community (BFCitC) is the award-winning, official charity of Burnley Football Club.

We work hard every day to deliver our mission to inspire, support and deliver change to communities across Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale, the Ribble Valley and West Yorkshire.

We work with over 70 local, regional, and national partners in five key areas: Sport, Education, Health, Social Inclusion and Community Facilities. Our highly skilled, dynamic, and passionate team now deliver over 50 community projects that touch the lives of a huge spectrum of people in and around Burnley. From children and young people right through to senior citizens.

The charity is now looking to recruit to the role of Driver/Assistant to work at the Burnley Community Kitchen.

The successful candidate will be expected to collect and deliver foodbank donations and parcels in the Burnley and Pendle area whilst ensuring BFCitC is promoted in a professional, strong and positive manner.

The Driver/Assistant will also assist the Community Kitchen Manager with the maintenance and operation of the Community Kitchen.

The Driver/Assistant will be expected to:

• Collect food bank donations from a number of suppliers in the Burnley and Pendle area.
• Deliver food parcels to addresses and homes throughout the Burnley and Pendle area.
• Assist the Community Kitchen Manager with the maintenance and operation of the Community Kitchen.
• General Community Kitchen duties to include assisting in the warehouse.
• Adhere to Health and Safety standards, centre rules, regulations and policies.
• To be able to work flexible and unsociable hours where the role of the job requires.
• To work towards agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Comply with all Charity policies.
• Promote the Burnley FC in the Community brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.
• Work alongside other team members to support in other areas of the organisation as and when required to promote best practice.
• To understand and implement the Charity’s Safeguarding policy, procedures and best practice guidelines in your role. To use this understanding to ensure safe working practices, appropriate reporting of concerns and contribute positively to a safe environment.
• A commitment to equality and diversity in the workplace.
• Willingness to attend training courses including Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity.
• Demonstrate the Charity’s values at all times.
• Undertake any other duties appropriate to this role.

An ideal candidate will have;
Essential:
• A full driving licence.
• The capability to collect and deliver a variety of weights in line with manual handling guidelines.
• Ability to carry out basic maintenance duties to a competent level.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• A passion for the community and making a difference.
• Time management skills to be able to plan and regulate workload including the ability to prioritise demands and thrive under pressure.
• Ability to work within a team and foster good working relationships.
• Willingness to have a full DBS check.
• Meticulous standards.
• A friendly, positive ‘can do’ and courteous attitude.
• A commitment to the aims, vision and values of Burnley FC in the Community.
• Highly motivated, determined and conscientious.
• Good judgement and knowing when to seek advice or support.
• Enthusiasm, energy and resilience.
• Flexible, helpful and responsive.

Desirable:
• A positive attitude towards professional development and their own learning.
• Experience in a similar role.
