The role
A exciting opportunity has become available for a Strategy Manager at a pivotal time of growth for Burnley Football Club. The Strategy Manager will work closely with Club leadership to drive forward performance, help identify, plan and execute new initiatives, and also prepare key analysis and presentations up to Board level. The role is critical to charting the growth of the Club both across short-term performance and long-term planning.
To be successful in the role, you will have an analytical mindset, excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work with people to get things done.

Role expectations
Reporting to the Chief of Staff, the main responsibilities of the Strategy Manager will be as follows:

Strategic Planning
• Conduct market and competitive research, to identify key trends and products and services that could be of benefit to the Club and it’s fans
• Support the development of Club and ownership’s long-term strategy across the club and in functional areas (e.g. digital transformation and strategy, new business opportunities)
• Identify opportunities to grow the Club in various current and potential revenue & fan growth

Business Performance
• Produce accurate, timely and insightful reports on performance to key stakeholders
• Assess operational effectiveness and process
• Support Executive Committee in decision-making process
• Prepare materials for Board and Investor presentations

Analytical Leadership and Support
• Provide strategic and analytical support to functional leaders
• Complete impact analysis and recommendations across all areas of the business
• Develop business plans for key strategic initiatives, including revenue, cost, operational and risk
• Lead and support cross-team initiatives

• Actively contribute to creating a positive, focused and effective team environment
• Comply with all Club policies.
• Understand and implement the Club’s Safeguarding policy, procedures, and best practice.
• Promote the Burnley Football Club brand and ethos in a professional, strong and positive manner.

Desired skills:
• Minimum 2 years experience in management consulting or corporate strategy role.
• Strong analytical toolkit, ability to collate and drive insights from data.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work strategically and collaboratively across departments.
• Highly developed PowerPoint and Excel skills.
• Driven and motivated.
• Enthusiasm, energy and resilience.

Applicants will need to have a flexible approach to work. It is expected the role holder will be available to work on home matchdays but Burnley FC has a generous time off in lieu policy to compensate.
