Job Role:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Consulting Practitioner in the field of Performance Psychology to become an important member of West Ham United Academy’s Football Science & Medicine Department and join an experienced multi-disciplinary team ahead of the 2022/23 season.


Main Responsibilities:
• To deliver team & individual support to our U23 & U18 squads, in line with the Academy Performance Psychology Framework & Curriculum.
• Work collaboratively with Lead coaches and MDT’s to identify and prioritise needs of the squads, and deliver in line with this.
• Support the Academy Head of Performance Psychology to continually evolve & develop the department framework & provision.
• Assist with the implementation of Psychological Profiling to Academy Players & Staff.
• Formal documentation of sessions, and notes in accordance with guidelines from relevant governing bodies.
• Actively contribute to a department internal CPD programme.
• Facilitate multi-disciplinary working to maximise a holistic development programme.
• Integrate within, and drive a culture of Elitism, with Individual development at the forefront.

Person Specification

Education/Qualifications/Experience:

• BSc (Hons) Sports Psychology or other relevant discipline (E)
• Post graduate qualification in a relevant field (E)
• BPS or BASES Accreditation (D)
• HCPC Registration or working towards (D)
• If from coaching background, UEFA Pro License (or equivalent) (D)
• Experience of planning and delivering work to enhance team & individual Performance (E)
• Experience in collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams (E)
• Previous experience of working with elite young athletes (E)
• Effective and appropriate communication skills, ability to build key relationships (E)
• Good understanding of the expectations of a Category 1 Academy according to the EPPP (D)
