Kick It Out and The FA's Calendar of Religious Festivals and Social Media Guidelines Kick It Out and The Football Association have released a calendar with the key religious dates of the six largest faiths in the United Kingdom, which take place during the 2019/20 season. Expand The calendar includes important dates from Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Judaism, Islam and Sikhism, with an explanation of the key religious observances from each faith. Guidance is provided for those involved who participate in football across all levels of the game around fixtures and religious observance. Tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic discrimination in football Kick It Out partnered with the Home Office and True Vision to release a comprehensive booklet that challenges homophobic, biphobic and transphobic (HBT) discrimination within football stadia. Expand The booklet was designed to assist stewards and safety officers in their understanding of HBT discrimination and how to effectively challenge this behaviour. However, it could be a valuable training resource across football and wider society. The partnership work formed part of Kick It Out’s ‘Call Full Time On Hate’ initiative, which urged the collective force of football to encourage inclusion and deter hate from the game. #KlickItOut - Learning Activities To support the Klick It Out campaign, this resource was produced to educate and inspire young people to consider issues around social media and discrimination. Expand Throughout Euro 2016, Kick It Out ran a campaign looking to challenge and raise awareness of discrimination on social media. Along with support from partners including Twitter, Facebook, The Digital Trust, The FA, The Premier League, The English Football League and The PFA, the Klick It Out campaign sought to highlight the consequences of social media abuse and encourage positive action against discrimination online. #TakeAStand - BUCS Kick It Out teamed up with British Universities and College Sports (BUCS) to develop an educational resource for university sports teams to engage with both organisations through the #TakeAStand campaign. Expand Despite the negative impact discrimination and exclusion can have, sport has the power to unite people from different backgrounds. Sports teams should be encouraged to lead by example when it comes to challenging discrimination/ exclusion and promoting equality and diversity. The resource includes campaigning and training ideas, educational information on challenging discrimination and celebrating diversity, as well as a sample session plan to deliver to teams and plenty more. Don't Hate, Educate - UK Youth Parliament Kick It Out worked in partnership with UK Youth Parliament to educate young people about the consequences of racial discrimination through a class session toolkit. Expand Following over 95,000 young people voting that tackling racism and racial discrimination as a priority issue; and Members of Youth Parliament voting to make this the national campaign during the 2015 House of Commons Sitting, the UK Youth Parliament worked to reduce racism and racial discrimination across communities through the Don't Hate Educate campaign.
