Kick It Out works extensively across the Academy system in English football to deliver equality training to the next generation of footballers and ensure that football remains an inclusive environment for everyone involved in the game.
The organisation works in partnership with the Premier League on the Equality Inspires initiative, which sees Kick It Out deliver equality and diversity workshops to all participants involved with the league’s Academy Programme - including players, club staff and parents or guardians.
Kick It Out also works with League Football Education (LFE) to deliver workshops for scholars – Under 16s to Under-18s – at English Football League (EFL) clubs.
Each workshop is delivered by Kick It Out and designed to be interactive and led by the participants' engagement. Topics of discussion include racism, homophobia, sexism, faith, disability, social media and the impact of acceptable/unacceptable banter in a changing room environment.
The Equality Inspires parents' workshops are based on the support and advice they give to their young son on their journeys, as well as the impact of negative behaviour and the effect it can have on performance.
Since 2011, Kick It Out has delivered hundreds of equality workshops, with thousands of Academy players now more educated on key issues surrounding discrimination, underrepresentation and stereotypes within the game.
