Kick It Out is delighted to announce the appointment of Lord Mann, Government Independent Adviser on Antisemitism, to support on its work tackling discrimination in football.

Lord Mann will aid Kick It Out, English football’s equality and diversity organisation, in a voluntary unpaid role.

Lord Mann’s priorities in the role will include: supporting Kick It Out's work tackling online hate, including the progress of legislation in the UK and US, which will benefit players and others involved in football who are victims of abuse; supporting the strategic review of Kick It Out’s education programmes; and chairing a new Kick It Out Antisemitism working group.

As an Ambassador, Lord Mann will also support with campaigning and influencing activities, to help inform and steer Kick It Out’s strategy and programmes.

Sanjay Bhandari, Kick It Out Chair, says: “We have been in dialogue with Lord Mann over recent months, and in particular to encourage football to adopt the IHRA definition of Antisemitism. We have been really impressed with his ideas and passion for football. We know that he is a respected and influential figure in politics and are confident that he can increase the impact of Kick It Out’s work. We are delighted Lord Mann has chosen to take on this new voluntary role and we look forward to working with him.”

Lord Mann, HM Government’s Independent Adviser on Antisemitism said: “I am delighted to become an Ambassador for Kick It Out, a charity which should be commended for its longstanding and unwavering record in tackling racism and antisemitism in football. As part of this role, I will be chairing its Antisemitism Working Group as well as supporting Kick It Out in areas involving tackling online hate and supporting the strategic review of its educational programmes. I look forward to continuing to work with Kick It Out in this new capacity.”
