Kick It Out are proud to support Dogwoof's release of THE AUSTRALIAN DREAM, a film from BAFTA Award winning director Daniel Gordon (Hillsborough, George Best: All By Himself) and Walkley Award winning journalist Stan Grant.

Set to be released in the UK Digitally on Demand from Friday 12th June, the film will be available through various digital platforms such as iTunes, Apple TV, Amazon Prime Video, Sky Store, Google Play, Virgin Media Store, Rakuten TV and Microsoft Store, amongst others.

The Australian Dream is a documentary that uses the remarkable and inspirational story of Indigenous AFL legend Adam Goodes as the prism through which to tell a deep and powerful story about race, identity and belonging. The film unpicks the events of the 2013-15 AFL seasons and asks fundamental questions about the nature of racism and discrimination in society today.

Walkley award-winning writer Stan Grant and BAFTA award-winning director Daniel Gordon join forces to tell this remarkable story of one of the most decorated and celebrated players in AFL history. A man who remains a cultural hero; the very epitome of resilience and survival, who continues to fight for equality and reconciliation.

Sanjay Bhandari, Kick It Out Chairman, remarked:

"Overcoming racist abuse is a vile reality for footballers the world over, and has been for far too long. As we and others continue our work to root out this disgraceful behaviour, we could all stand to improve our understanding of past events in order to better guide our progress today and in the future.

“Adam Goodes' experience reflects that of countless footballers in our English leagues throughout the past 60 years, and offers valuable insight into how the industry and society at large can continue tackling discriminatory behaviour in the modern game."
