Ahead of Kick It Out’s annual Raise Your Game conference at the Emirates on Monday 15 April, the organisation can confirm details of the workshops taking place on the day.

The Raise Your Game series, supported by the Premier League, is Kick It Out’s unique careers programme which helps provide opportunities for people who aspire to work in football.

Over 300 mentees will attend the free mentoring event, as more than 100 professionals from across football take part in panel discussions, workshops and one-to-one mentoring which offer invaluable information about working in the industry.

The workshops fall into three categories – careers, media and coaching.

Careers

The careers workshop will be delivered by Toby French of Careers in Football.

The organisation provides career advice, information, and inspiration for people wanting to work in professional football. The workshop will encourage participants to narrow down their career aspirations and targets while setting goals and targets based on information that they’ve received throughout the day.

Media

The media workshops will be hosted by BBC Sport, led by Football Focus edit Lou Sutton, and broadcaster Hugh Woozencroft, as the duo provide mentees with an insight into their experience working for the corporation in front of and behind the camera, as well as the skills required to succeed as a sports journalist.

Coaching

The coaching workshops will be presented by England Under-15 coach Justin Cochrane in the morning, with the afternoon sessions delivered by Anthony Ferguson, a qualified UEFA A Licence coach who works on The FA’s Coach Mentoring Programme.

The workshop will offer mentees the chance to learn about the England Team’s coaching environment, as well as pathways and support for coaches.

The full mentoring list will be confirmed later in the week, but guests can expect to hear from experts in their field across several areas of the game, including:

  • Media and Communications
  • Management and Coaching
  • Community and Grassroots
  • Football Business
  • Sports Science and Physiotherapy
  • Intermediaries
  • Refereeing
