Kick It Out are excited to announce the return of the Equality and Diversity Awareness in Football Award – an online course running from March 5 to April 19 which serves to aid existing and aspiring football industry professionals to further their knowledge on how to deal with issues of equality and diversity in the game.

Run in conjunction with Solent University, Southampton, the programme is now in its fifth year of biannual delivery. The six-unit course is tutored by academics who provide one-on-one online support until completion, allowing participants to develop their leaderships skills by helping to create inclusive environments through language, culture and initiatives.

Osei Sankofa, Education Officer at Kick It Out, former professional footballer and 2018 graduate of the award, said: “The Equality and Diversity Awareness in Football Award is a progressive, multidisciplinary programme that enhances participants understanding of diverse and inclusive practices in all areas of the football industry.

“While incredibly useful in reflecting on the state of existing procedures, graduates of this unique programme are able to build lifelong professional skills to enhance both their careers and all areas of the game.”

Prospective candidates must be:

  • Working or volunteering within the football industry, or studying full-time for a qualification related to work in football.

To apply, applicants must send an application form with a 150-word statement on why they want to study the course, along with photo ID (driving licence or passport), to [email protected] by February 20, 2020.
