Kick It Out helped support the Disability Sports Day Festival in Tower Hamlets, thanks to the organisation’s Grassroots Activity Fund.

Taking place on Monday 14 May, the event provided a day of sporting activity for disabled children and adults from across the borough, with over 150 participants involved in an enjoyable day at Mile End Stadium.

Football was a highlight of the day as a number of teams competed. There was also the opportunity for the participants to play a number of sports including cricket, golf and athletics as well.

The Disability Sports Day was also celebrating its 10th anniversary with additional support from the likes of the Tower Hamlets Sports Development team, London Youth, Sort Golf and the West Ham Foundation.

Imrul Gazi, Grassroots Advisor for Kick It Out, was delighted Kick It Out could support the event for a second successive year.

“It’s been fantastic to support the Disability Sports Day Festival once again, and it has been great to see so many people enjoy themselves through the power of sport and football.

“The event was so widely supported by the local community and it is important that Kick It Out interacts with people involved at the grassroots level by sharing messages of equality and inclusion.”
