[Community] Manchester CFA hosting Annual Refugee Week tournament

Friday 18 May 2012

Manchester CFA is holding an inclusive 6-a-side football tournament to show its support for Annual Refugee Week, a UK-wide programme celebrating the diversity and contributions that refugees bring to the UK.

Annual Refugee week runs from 18-24 June, and the tournament, held in conjunction with Refugee Action, Salford Health Improvement Team and Manchester Communication Academy, is taking place on 23 June.

John Hurst, Social Inclusion co-ordinator at Manchester CFA, said: "We’re delighted again to be involved this season and hope to build on last season’s success. Football is such a powerful tool, which brings people together whatever their background or history and this season's tournament will leave a lasting sporting legacy here in Manchester."

Hosted at Manchester Communication Academy, the team entry submission deadline is 15 June at 12pm.

If you wish to enter a team, take part, volunteer or would just like further information regarding the event, please contact John Hurst on john.hurst@manchesterfa.com or via 0161 203 2990 opt 2.
