[UK] Manchester United fan charged

A Manchester United fan has been charged with shouting racist abuse at Stoke City players during a Premier League match.

Howard Hobson, 57, of Weaver Walk, Openshaw, Manchester, was arrested at the game at Old Trafford on Tuesday.

Greater Manchester Police said he was accused of a racially-aggravated public order offence.

He is due to appear at Trafford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
