[Community] Equality campaigner Fran Jenkin passes away

Friday 30 Jul 2010

It is with great sadness that Kick It Out must report the passing of equality campaigner Fran Jenkin.

Fran worked for many years in the south west of England promoting Kick It Out and organising annual community cohesion events.

Fran, an avid Exeter City fan, will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

Julian Tagg, Vice Chairman & CEO Football at Exeter City Football Club said: "Fran made a difference to everything she touched, Exeter City being no exception.

"Having worked with her for 18 years at the college, I knew and benefited on numerous occasions from all her abilities and strengths, which were manifold, but most often her thoughtfulness and understanding.”

Kick It Out wishes to pass its condolences on to her family and friends at this time.

"As long as a player does the business during 90 minutes, his sexual persuasion just doesn't come into it. I would rather be playing alongside the best player in the world who is gay than someone who's not good enough."
