[UK] Row brewing over Premier League golly wogs
Wednesday 30 Sep 2009
A row is brewing between a seller of racist novelty goods and the Premier League over the use of club insignia and colours for racist memorabilia.
Patriot Products, run by BNP supporter Roger Phillips, sells a range of “official” merchandise alongside BNP badges, “Enoch Powell was right” paraphernalia and golly-wogs wearing the colours of clubs like Manchester United, Portsmouth and Wolves.
Patriot Products was launched at this year's BNP Red, White and Blue rally. The site is managed by the Green Arrow, an anti-Semitic, anti-Muslim blog run by Paul Morris, a BNP activist.
The Premier League, Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur have been presented with a dossier and are considering their options.
