The Equality and Child Protection Department of The FA is looking to appoint an Equality Manager to join a team to assist in the delivery of equality objectives.
Reporting to The FA’s Head of Equality and Child Protection, this role presents a unique opportunity to develop and manage the delivery of the strategic equality objectives and targets in The FA Vision, 2008-2012.
The successful candidate will need to possess the following:
Knowledge
> In-depth knowledge of equality issues and experience of developing and implementing solutions
> A high level of knowledge of the law in relation to discrimination and harassment
> Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Experience
> Proven ability to deliver sustainable projects across a number of equality strands
> Significant experience of managing people to become champions for equality
> Evidence planning and delivering visible confidence building measures across the equality strands
> Experience in providing advice and guidance in various equality strands
> Line-management experience
> Sensitively managing challenges from external pressure groups and individuals
> Evidence of the development of educational resources.
A passion for equality and fairness; post-graduate qualification or equivalent in a social science or related discipline; experience of recognising and addressing individual and team weaknesses through continuous professional development and experience of working with and influencing government agencies and NGOs, is desirable.
