Elite Youth, in partnership with the London Football Association, have organised a Summer Referee's Course, which will take place in August at the Osmani Youth Centre in East London.
The course follows on from the huge success of last year's course, which saw 20 people refereeing in locals leagues in the evenings and weekends within weeks of passing the course.
The course consists of two full days of intensive classroom-based instruction on the theory and practice of refereeing, including a child protection and best practice workshop.
The course will conclude with a written examination and a visual test by the London Football Association.
The dates for the course are as follows:
Saturday 2nd August from 9am - 5pm
Saturday 9th August from 9am - 5pm
Saturday 23rd August from 9 am - 5pm (Workshop & exams)
Relevant literature will be supplied at the beginning of the course but candidates should bring a pen and paper, together with a packed lunch on each day of the course.
On successfully passing the examinations, candidates will be registered as a fully qualified Level 7 (Junior) Referee unless they are aged 14 or 15, when they will be registered as a Level 8 (Youth) Referee.
The cost of the course is just 50 pounds per person. Anyone interested should fill in both the application form and booking form and send them to Abdal Ahmed, along with payments.
Places are limited and will be offered on a first come first served basis.
If you have any further questions please contact Abdal on 020 7247 8080 or email abdal.ahmed@eliteyouth.org
