Engaging Communities

Football is bringing communities together

Our aim is to ensure that all communities are embraced by the football and opportunities in the game are widely available to everyone.

Kick It Out works with community groups to help them to use football to meet their own objectives and needs.

Assistance is available for grassroots clubs and community projects to identify funding sources for development from external agencies to support excluded communities or encouraging greater involvement in the game.

Developing links with communities
Most professional clubs strive to achieve recognition as a 'community' or 'family' club. In doing so it is important that they develop strong links with their local communities, particularly for those that are situated in areas with significant minority ethnic populations.

The majority of clubs are now undertaking a range of activities wthin their local communities. Our goal is to ensure that all football clubs are reaching out to every community.

Reaching out to community
Some County FA's are also increasing their efforts in reaching out to all sections of the community such as Manchester and  Birmingham FA. Both County FA's have undertaken some good work in reaching out to their local communities.

Kick It Out's work in the community has helped a number of different groups. To read about a selection of groups who have used Kick It Out's help please click here.
